September's newsletter!
Our September meeting was a slightly smaller affair than usual, but that certainly didn't stop us having an enjoyable and productive evening. We had a varied selection of stories to read, plenty of discussion and some interesting ideas and suggestions along the way. Sometimes a smaller group has its advantages, giving us a little more time to explore each piece in detail.
We also have lots going on within the group, from the Chair's steadily growing novel to a collection of Three Men in a Bar stories and writing inspired by hedgehogs! Our stories this month ranged from Max finding himself rather less in control than usual, through zombies and a burning New York skyscraper, to a trip to Brighton from twenty years ago. There was plenty to discuss — and even a few unexpected twists!
This month's Hints & Tips takes a slightly different approach, with some ideas for trying something a little different in a writers' group. And of course, we have our new themes for October, which should provide plenty of scope for the imagination.
Seasoned or new writers are always welcome to join us — there is nothing like some friendly encouragement to prompt real progress with a writing project.
